LILAC HOME & GARDEN

I'm getting scared now.... only two weeks till I open LILAC HOME AND GARDEN, on the 12th of May (Mothers Day) . I've been so busy making sure all my other work is up to date, and organising all the behind the scenes stuff for LILAC HOME & GARDEN. Now it's time to knuckle down and make some goodies for you all. I hope I've got enough time to get plenty done. I have so many ideas running around in my head.... hmmm where to start! Bunting, potted plants, furniture restoration, hankie boxes, cushions.....crochet.....painted glass..
candles...

Stay tuned, my next post will be about what I have for sale and what Barbara, Chris, Val and H will be selling as well. I should have my Logo and business cards soon, so will be showing them to you too.

(PS) In case you were wondering, I've finished my de-cluttering task for April
(the filing system).
Don't know if I will get much more de-cluttering done over the next few months, though I will be trying to finish the quilt for our bed, that I started four or five years ago!

Gotta run now!

LILAC HOME & GARDEN !

My new venture this year is starting to fall into place, slow and frustrating at times, fast and out of control at other times. But I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I've decided on a name for my business ( LILAC HOME & GARDEN ), and a logo. I have some furniture ready to sell, plus some scented candles, some painted glass ware, some potted herbs and other plants in interesting containers and some sewn items ( bunting, cushions, pot holders, table cloths etc.). Some of the glass ware is decorated with vintage wall paper and the sewn items are made out of a variety of material from my stash. There will also be bird houses and other interesting rustic furniture made from old sweat box timber, pressed tin etc. by Val, and other sewn items and interesting curio made by Chris and Barbara.

BOX SEAT, MADE TO MEASURE.
This is an example of Val's work

I know you've heard me say this many times this year but once again I can't help myself,
 I'M SO EXCITED!!
Also, over the next few weeks my blogging is going to suffer again because l have to make sure my other duties are up to date and prepare for LILAC HOME & GARDENS opening.
But do stay posted for more updates, photos of stock for sale and a date for our
 GRAND OPENING!

Gotta run now... talk to you soon.

Furniture Restoration etc.

LATEST PIECE OF FURNITURE RESTORED BY H AND MYSELF!

Sorry I've taken so long to get back on line. I've had a really busy few months getting ready for our sauce weekend, and with the closing down of STUDIO89, where I was selling my restored furniture and other bits and pieces from.I am now thinking on how to go about selling my goodies and am working on a few ideas I've had. So I'll let you know when I get myself organised. The dressing table pictured above will be one of the items for sale, along with other pieces I'm working on, plus home made candles, some china, etc. etc.
As for my de-cluttering task for February, I could tell you I finished it in February but haven't had a chance to post my report yet... but I cant tell a lie. I've decided to make it my task for March.. easy fixed, seeing as I only have to answer to myself :-) And myself said " No problem, it's only a month later than you planned and you've had other much more important things happening...don't be so hard on yourself." So now I feel much better, since the pressure is off. :-)

I'll be back soon.

I'M BACK!

STUDIO89
STUDIO89

Well I know I said I'd be back with exciting news about STUDIO89, and I do have news, just not the same news I had before.
STUDIO89 will be open this Thursday 14th,10am till 1pm, Friday 15th, 10am till 3pm, Saturday 16th, 10am till 3pm and as Sunday17th is the Merbein Market day we will be open 8am till 1pm. This will be our last day in the Studio as someone is interested in buying the building. So if you're out and about and looking for somewhere interesting to have a browse come and check it out, some of the stock will be on sale for these last few days. Its a little sad that we're closing but I don't think it will be for long. All of us who are involved in STUDIO89 are keen to find another avenue to sell our art work, furniture/ bird houses and more, made out of reclaimed timber, pressed tin, and other old bits and pieces. Restored furniture and lots more interesting curio. In the meantime we will keep working on our handy work, and I'll say again, stay posted for more on this later.
(PS) DON'T FORGET MERBEIN MARKET DAY SUNDAY 17TH MARCH 8AM TILL 1PM. THERE'S LOTS TO SEE!

FIRST SALE!!!!

Sold this bench seat yesterday at the Merbein market.
I am now officially a business woman (according to my dear friend H.)
I can't believe the journey I'm on!  I'm following my instincts and so far everything is flowing along nicely and falling into place!
I'm a very happy girl!
Not telling you how old I am, but I've decided us girls are girls till the day we die. After listening to my grandma once say "I know that girl over there". That girl was the same age as grandma......a very young 95 years old.

I've added some photos of STUDIO 89, where I have my goodies for sale.

Absolutely gorgeous!

Furniture Restoration

Today (15/01/2013) is officially the first day of my furniture restoration endeavours!!

I found this dressing table in my travels, searching for old damaged furniture. It would have originally had a mirror attached, but the mirror was gone and a lot of the veneer was peeling off. I've sanded it back and now its ready to paint!

Painted! :-)

Shabby Chic!

Finished product!!!!

Sorry I have to run along, as it's the 30th now... only one day left in January to de-clutter my china...going to be cutting it fine!
